Jewellever! One of a kind jewelry brand by Eman Iftikhar

1-Tell us about your brand!

Jewellever – from jewellery forever, is an emotionally evocative and all heart kind of brand. It started off with a crazy question “how do I preserve my artistically inclined daughter’s artwork?” . And then one thing followed another. As parents we all want to celebrate and hold onto our children’s milestones. So we thought why not preserve these first memories as articles of jewellery. The first doodle, the first word, your baby’s heartbeat, their first love note to you so on and so forth.

2-When did you first realize you wanted to pursue a career as a jewelry designer?

Honestly, I would have never thought I would be doing this. Specially with no formal training in the subject. I’m an advertiser by profession, hence totally in love with ideas that pull heartstrings. Jewellever was exactly that, an idea that I fell in love with.

3-What is your favorite part about being a jewelry designer?

The thought of crafting a tangible piece that holds so much emotional value for someone, that truly has my heart.

4-What kinds of things do you do to translate your passions and inspirations into jewelry? What is your creative process?

My profession has groomed me as a visual thinker. So the moment i see a doodle or a squiggle I let my imagination run wild. There’s a personality attached to each piece and it plays like a film in my head. I sit with it and take it with me as I do my chores and in doing so its story becomes clear. That is where it really comes to life.

5-Should DOODLE work and JEWELRY MAKING be considered ART or CRAFT?

Ahh the age old debate! For me, the little creators who doodle for us are artists and then when we take their work and try to layer it with a heartfelt emotion – we are artists too! Because there’s no “mind” in our line of work, it’s all emotions, all heart!

6-Beyond applying basic techniques, how does the Jewelry Designer evoke an emotional response to their jewelry?

Techniques and all are ofcourse a prerequisite, by the manual variety. For us the emotional response lies in the fact that while we aesthetically make the object appealing, we are very careful about not losing the essence of the artists original work. Its bringing memories to life for someone and that is potent.

7-How do you want women to feel when wearing your jewelry?

Women and men both, who wear our pieces – the dream is to bring a smile to their face every time they see it. It’s like a happy moment frozen in time for them to access and live again at will.
