So as ironic as this may sound, turning my teeth black actually made them whiter. Whoaa!
So apart from having the worst set of disarrayed teeth (which I proudly show off), I gradually started noticing the color of them fading too. Thanks to my twice a day cuppa, I feared that in no time my teeth would probably turn into the color of my hair. I could still digest my poor alignment of teeth but the shade change was worrisome. My love for a good cup of coffee had inevitably changed the whiteness of my teeth *sob*
So after all the build-up heard on activated charcoal on various platforms, I thought of giving it a try. I’m not fond of the bleaching sessions; eventually they harm your teeth so my exploration was more on a mild side. Let me tell you, this stuff is awesome! I tried so many things, but this surprised me the most.
Before you use activated charcoal, you should be aware that this type of charcoal is not the same as the everyday charcoal from your barbecue out back. Activated charcoal is specifically designed for medicinal use.

First, I enlisted my sister to do it with me, because all questionable endeavours need a sister accomplice. Then I bought a new toothbrush (I thought the charcoal might stain my regular toothbrush and *ding ding* I was right). I wet my toothbrush under the sink, then dipped it into the jar of charcoal so that the bristles were completely covered. When I finally put the brush in my mouth, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was virtually tasteless. Both my sister and I agreed that afterwards, our teeth were noticeably whiter—at least two shades whiter if we had to use one of those shade strips.
Dip a wet toothbrush into the fine, odourless and tasteless black dust. Brush in small gentle circles for two minutes. Spit it out carefully, rinse really well and you’re done. First timers should definitely wear old clothing and do this over the sink. It can be a little messy. Careful not to spill the powder. It is completely odourless and tasteless and doesn’t hurt teeth or gums. Overtime it will remove stains, deodorize, prevent bad breath remove plaque and prevent harmful bacteria growth, so do not expect wonders to work in 3 days!
